NEW TOUR! Blue Mountains Big Day Out

Things To Do In Sydney
Made the big trip over here and want to tick off your bucket list of things to do in Sydney? This comprehensive list has got you covered!
If you're based somewhere in the city of Sydney, then you have access to inexpensive and efficient public transport that will take you to all the big destinations. There's plenty of other lesser-known places that are worth visiting as well.
Manly, Bondi Beach, The Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera house... there's short videos with information on how to get to these jewels in Sydney's crown - just scroll below.
My personal favourite place to visit, and my family's favourite is Newtown. In my mind, this is the cultural heart of Sydney. Newtown is only 10 minutes from the city.
The streets of Newtown have every kind of imaginable cuisine on offer. From vegan ramen to Turkish and Thai, Newtown is only 10 minutes from the city.
Perhaps the easiest way to visit all of these destinations is to enter the name in Google Search, find the map, and then click the public transport icon (a train) to find the best way to get there.
For example, if you're staying in the city, to get to Bondi Beach, which is around 40 minutes away, it shows you'd get a combination of a train, then a bus.
Purchase an opal card at any convenience store (AUD$20) to pay and use on all buses, trains, light rail and ferries. More info on Opal Cards can be found here.
Of course, you can always get to any destination by taxi, but Ubers are a preferred way to get around here and they're much cheaper too!
Sydney is fringed by countless, beautiful beaches, all within reach by public transport.
It's worth allocating a full day when you visit them, as it's always pleasant to walk along the nearby coastal headlands and explore nearby bays.
