The Rocks Market
Updated: Jul 19
If you’re staying in the Sydney CBD (Central Business District) and you’re here on the weekend, you’ve got to visit the Rocks Market.
It’s a vibrant open-air waterfront market where you can pick up some locally made arts and crafts, snack on gourmet street food and enjoy stunning views of the harbour.
The Rocks is located just down the hill from the city, maybe a 15 minute walk from Town Hall, or a quick trip on Sydney’s new light rail.
The Rocks is a little tourist precinct that lies in the shadow of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It’s on the edge of Circular Quay, and it’s also where you can see spectacular views of the Opera House.
The Rocks became established shortly after the colony's formation in 1788.
Now though, along the cobbled streets are lined with a variety of souvenir and craft shops, restaurants, delicatessans, cafes, coffee shops, historic pubs and bars.
