If you're curious, cautious, already booked, or just poking around thinking, "Is this for me?" — welcome. This guide is based on the real questions I get through my inbox and on the FAQ page of my website — all answered with honesty, humour, and a bit of Aussie bush charm. Think of this as your warm-up act for the Best Wildlife Tour Australia has going.

Do I get to see kangaroos and koalas?

Yep. Not just from a distance — you'll be close enough to feel like part of the mob. We visit wildlife parks like the one at Walkabout, where you can pat kangaroos and wallaroos, and even have a private koala encounter. No crowds, no cages, just proper bushland and animals doing their thing. I take pro-level pics so you can stay in the moment — and show off later.

Is this tour really private?

100%. No buses, no touristy megaphones. Just you, your group (if you’ve got one), and me — your local bushman and guide. It’s your day, your playlist, your pace.

What makes this the Best Wildlife Tour in Australia?

Glad you asked. It’s the local knowledge, years of exploring the Aussie bush, and the ability to spot wildlife most people walk straight past. That, plus a good sense of humour and zero cookie-cutter itineraries. You’ll get moments — not just photo ops. And yes, you’ll leave with a stack of quality photos, taken by yours truly.

Where do you pick up from?

I pick you up from wherever you’re staying — hotel, Airbnb, cruise terminal, or even your mate’s couch. Both White Bay and Circular Quay cruise terminals are covered.

Can you cater for mobility or accessibility needs?

Absolutely. The day is tailored to suit all guests — including wheelchairs, walkers, moon boots, and Grandma’s knees. There are stunning spots that are easy to access without missing the magic. Just let me know in advance and I’ll plan the route accordingly.

Is lunch included?

We stop at locally loved spots with cracking views — like The Point Café in Avoca Beach. From fish tacos and burgers to vegan bowls and GF options, everyone gets a good feed. Dietary needs? Let me know when you book, and we’ll sort it.

Is it suitable for kids?

Kids love it. Animals, bush tracks, fresh air — they usually end up leading the adventure. I adapt each day to suit the group, whether it’s little legs or short attention spans. Bonus: I bring stories, dad jokes and stops with real toilets.

What if it rains?

Unless it’s a proper thunderstorm, we go. I pack ponchos and umbrellas — and sometimes the animals are even more active when the drizzle hits. If weather makes things unsafe or just not fun, we’ll swap it out for something else or chat about rebooking. We’re grown-ups. We can work it out.

Do I need a fancy camera?

Nope. I’ve got the gear and the eye — and I take pro-level photos for you throughout the day. You’ll get a downloadable gallery afterward. Your new iPhone Pro ZX21 can stay in your pocket while you pat a wallaby.

Do we visit wineries or gin distilleries?

We sure do — and not the mass-market kind. We stop at Firescreek Winery, where they make wine from fruit and flowers (yep, really), and Distillery Botanica, where garden-grown botanicals meet small-batch gin. Tastings are included. Regrets are not.

Can we shop for souvenirs?

Absolutely. We visit places that sell locally made wine and chocolate, boutique spirits, and authentic Aboriginal art — direct from the artist when possible (please let me know in advance if you'd like to meet Garry, the artist). If you’re doing the 2-Day Nature Escape, you’ll love artsy little Wollombi and its creative stalls.

How long is the tour?

The tours run all day — usually 8:00am to around 6:30pm. Long enough to see, experience, eat, and relax — without feeling rushed. You’ll return home tired but grinning.

Can we customise the itinerary?

You bet. Want more wildlife? Let’s go find it. Prefer waterfalls, bushwalks, or long romantic walks along the beach? Done. Every tour is private and designed around you — not what’s trending on TripAdvisor.

How do I book?

Easy. Just hit Book Now or shoot me a message. If the date’s available, it’s yours. If not, I’ll do my best to make it work. Peak months (Sept to April) book up faster than Taylor Swift tickets — so don’t hang about.

What’s the cancellation policy?

Plans change — I get it. Free cancellation up to 48 hours before your tour. Inside that window? Just talk to me. I’m a human, not a call centre.

Can I read more reviews or see the full FAQ?

Yep! Head over to the FAQ page on my website for more details, or check out the reviews from real guests who’ve already called this the Best Wildlife Tour Australia has to offer.

Still got questions?

Email me or my boss. If I’m not online, I’m probably out helping someone pat a wallaby — or dodging bunya cones. Cheers, Matt
