G’day, adventure seekers! YouTube’s algorithms have spoken to me — and they’re hungry for more Sydney bushwalking adventures — so I’ve launched a brand-new series of POV videos called Sydney Walks.

Think of it as your front-row ticket to pristine nature walks in Sydney, gum‐tree gazing, wildlife cameos, heavy breathing and the occasional pratfall on the best hiking trails near Sydney.

Tall spiky plants stand in a lush, green forest with misty trees in the background. The scene is serene and tropical.

Why Sydney Bushwalking in Berowra Valley Is Your Next Adventure

First up is a walk through the Berowra Valley National Park that’s already racked up views faster than a wallaby hops. I hit “record” just as dawn chased away the stars, wandering the Berowra walking track — one of the top Sydney hiking trails — with nothing but birdsong… and the thunderous soundtrack of my own heavy breathing. (Thanks to my sister’s keen ears, you’ll get my extra-crispy panting track in stereo!)

This video is the first in the Sydney Walks series and it’s a laid-back, POV tour of one of my favourite local tracks.

Insider Tips for Epic Sydney Bushwalking Experiences

A prehistoric-looking lizard climbs a tree trunk in a dense green forest. The lizard has a long tail and a pattern of stripes and spots.

Here’s how to get the most from Sydney bushwalking:

  • Gear up: Lace your boots tighter than a koala’s grip, pack plenty of water, and don’t forget the insect repellent.

  • Timing is everything: Early mornings deliver cooler temps, softer light for your videos, and far fewer fellow bushwalkers stepping on your toes.

  • Respect the locals: If a wallaby ignores your high-five offer, that’s their prerogative. Tiptoe past nesting birds and leave no trace.

  • Embrace the unexpected: From surprise sandstone caves to wildflower carpets after rain, Berowra Valley National Park never fails to delight.

If you’ve ever fancied swapping your couch for kicked-up dirt, sandstone ridges, and epic Hawkesbury panoramas, click play on the Bushwalking Sydney video above now. Enjoy! Matt Tour Director & Wildlife Whisperer Sydney Guided Tours
