Not every wildlife encounter happens in the sun. On a recent Central Coast wildlife tour, we discovered a hidden sandstone cave, only accessible at low tide. Inside, the air cooled and the shadows deepened—then we saw them. A colony of Common Bent-winged Bats, tiny native insect hunters roosting high above.
