The Secret Bat Cave on a Private Central Coast Wildlife Tour
Not every wildlife encounter happens in the sun. On a recent Central Coast wildlife tour, we discovered a hidden sandstone cave, only accessible at low tide. Inside, the air cooled and the shadows deepened—then we saw them. A colony of Common Bent-winged Bats, tiny native insect hunters roosting high above. These elusive creatures thrive in quiet, protected spaces like this one, making it a rare and special moment to witness on a private nature tour.
